Project overview

Together with world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie, Samantha Drummond worked closely with  Las Vegas Sands CEO to develop a modern, state-of-the-art property appropriate for the sophisticated market of Singapore. The 20-hectare property boasts an impressive array of features: 2,561 hotel rooms, a 120,000 sqm convention-exhibition center, an impressive 80,000 sqm retail space, a museum and two theatres, celebrity chef restaurants, external floating pavilions, and the world’s largest atrium casino.

Scope

Leading the design efforts for Las Vegas Sands Asia, Samantha represented the owner throughout the project lifecycle, developing the visual identity and overall aesthetic direction for the entire resort.

Samantha selected and managed over 40 consultants in addition to an in-house design management team executing all the details required for the project build.

During the process Samantha worked with established artists such as Ned Kahn (environmental artist and sculptor), Antony Gormley (sculptor), Zheng Chongbin (conceptual artist) and James Carpenter (design, engineering and built environment) to integrate their works into Marina Bay Sands.

Samantha also managed the design process for the celebrity chef restaurants Guy Savoy, Mario Batali, Wolfgang Puck, Tetsuya Wakuda and Daniel Boulud to name a few.
